Mound System

A mound system is installed on sites where high bedrock, groundwater, or other limiting factors prevent the installation of a subsurface conventional system. To achieve the 36" seperation from these limiting factors, the bed is raised above grade by placing high quality sand fill below the bed or trench. The mound is then covered with synthetic fabric and topsoil. In a mound system, the effluent is pumped from the septic tanks to provide even, equal distribution throughout the bed or trench.
